While Imran and the rest are out exploring, Jessica discovers Imran's passport is a Pakistani passport. Once leaving Kandahar they travel through a farm and manage to capture a bullfight on film before stopping off at a stream coming closer to the Pakistan border.

In the meantime, Suhel and Jai attempt to interview Imran, yet are unsuccessful when Imran threatens to shoot them. The four of them (Suhel, Jai, Jessica, Imran and Khyber) travel through various villages where they see horrific sights of poverty before reaching the southern city of Kandahar where Jessica gets the chance to interview US troops who are fighting to regain control of the city from the Taliban who occupy the area. Imran is attempting to cross the border, get past Pakistani troops and negotiate with his Taliban associates in Pakistan. Imran demands they listen to him and travel straight to the Afghan border with Pakistan or he promises they will be killed. However, shortly after leaving Ishtar, they are caught by Taliban official Imran Khan ( Salman Shahid) who has hitched a ride at the back of the taxi in disguise as an Afghan woman. Suhel and Jai then invite Jessica to join them on their tour of the country, which she does. They stop in a small cafe selling kebabs where they meet American journalist Jessica Beckham ( Linda Arsenio) who is working for Reuters in reporting on the US side of the Afghan war.
Kabul express movie review driver#
On the way, they stop in the village of Ishtar along with the taxi driver Khyber (Hanif Humghum), who has watched his country fall apart over the decades. This follows an escape from capture by the Taliban. They take a tour of the country in a taxi, starting in Kabul. The two are shocked at the state of the country and the ruins that remain due to years of rule by the Taliban Regime.

John and Arshad are good but the movie is not convincing. They visit Imran's daughter's village, and go through many struggling moments before finally reaching Pakistani border but also being hunt down by the army.Does Imran make it to the other side of the border or not?.It is not a big surprise you will guess this part much before the director even brings the story to the end.Īnyways, the review.the movie is not worth wasting time on. There they also meet and save the American journalist (the no-name actress) and her driver who have been on Jai's and Suhel's tracks and were now imprisoned by the Hazaras. They are stopped by the Hazaras during which Imran escapes and laters rescues Jai, Suhel, and Khyber from them. Some funny moments arise when Jai and Imran discuss about cricket.Įnroute to Pakistan they are overcome by many hurdles. Jai, Suhel, and Khyber are being terrorized by the talib who calls himself Imran Khan Afridi (Salman Shahid). He tracks them down and tries to use them to help his getaway into Pakistan which he claims is his homeland. Khyber sets up a meeting with a Talib with the help of Pakistani soldiers but the Talib escapes from them and he sees Jai and Suhel. They are on a hunt to find a Talib in flesh and blood and are being assisted by Khyber (Hanif) who drives Kabul Express, a car. So Jai (Arshad) a cameraman and Suhel (John) a reporter, are on their way to Kabul to get a documentary on Taliban. Cast: Arshad Warsi, John Abraham, a no-name-American, Hanif Hum Ghum, Salman Shahid
